Lifestyle-ICONWhen you hear the word beauty, one automatically thinks of women’s products. Beauty isn’t just for the girls though, men have grooming needs as well. In this edition of beauty on a budget, I bring to you a few products that I think men will get some use out of.

Acne Wash

Let’s face it, we all get breakouts. A man’s skin is more susceptible to breakouts due to sweat, dirt and often more physical activity. Help battle the acne with Neutrogena Men Skin Clearing Acne Wash. This wash contains salicylic acid which helps battle the breakouts while gently cleansing the skin. This product can be found at local drugstores for $6.

Razors

At some point or another shaving has to happen. Don’t leave your skin full of razor bumps and cuts by using a cheap throw away razor. Invest in a razor that you can replace the cartridge heads on for a smooth lasting shave. Try the Gillette Fusion Pro Glide razor equipped with thinner, finer blades to prevent tugging of the skin. This razor has five blades placed closely together giving you a better shaving surface. In the package you will get one razor and one cartridge. The cost at area drugstores is around $12.

Shaving Cream

We talked about razors, now you are going to need something to assist that razor. Shaving cream is a must for men who shave regularly. Shaving cream helps the razor glides smoothly across the face and also helps prevents knicks, cuts and razor burn. Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel is dermatologist recommended and helps you shave less often. You can find this product at area drugstores for around $4.

Deodorant

Summer is coming up and there is no time like the present to start using a new deodorant. If you’re current one just isn’t working for you then try Right Guard Total Defense deodorant and antiperspirant. This is a gel form instead of a solid so it goes on smooth and clear. It claims to protect against odor for 48 hours and wetness for 24 hours. Since I live a construction worker whom works extra hard during the summer months when it gets 100 degrees outside you can trust me when I say this works. Find this at local drugstores for around $4.

Body Wash

Men, unlike women, are quick to get ready in the mornings. A quick shower and they are ready. Simplify your shower routine even more by combining your shower gel and shampoo into one great product. Gillette All Over Clean Hair and Body Wash leaves your hair soft and your body clean. No need to buy multiple products cluttering up the shower. This body wash also has a fresh clean scent that smells great and won’t overpower your cologne. Find this product for around $4.

Cologne

Everyone has their own scent they like. Did you know that stores like Wal-Mart and Walgreens now carry some of your favorite designer colognes? If you love Curve cologne but hate spending over $50 for a little bottle of it, look at Wal-Mart next time you are in there. Wal-Mart sells a 6.8 oz. bottle for $44.75 whereas Macy’s sells a 4.2 oz. bottle for $54. Save your money by checking out your local drugstore before heading to the big department store for expensive colognes.

Whether you already have these products or are searching for new products to fit into your “beauty” regimen, these few items might help you get your day started. There are many more products that you can add to your morning routine, but these basics will get one started in the right direction.
