Campus Life is hosting a movie night for the premiere of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. at the B & B Theater in Neosho.

“We’re planning for this to be a fun event for our students,” said Mark Aubuchon, Campus Life coordinator. “We’re also using this as a way to raise money for the Giving Tree.”

According to Aubuchon, the movie choice was influenced by students.

“We know many of our students are huge fans of the books,” said Aubuchon. “We believed that “The Hunger Games” would be a popular choice among students.”

In addition to the premiere of the sequel, the original “Hunger Games” movie will be shown in the Fireside Room at 5 p.m. for those with tickets purchased.

A small fee is required for those planning to attend the “Catching Fire” premiere.

“A fee of $5 is required for general admittance tickets,” said Aubuchon. “Tickets for VIP seats are also available to students for $10.”

Money raised from ticket sales will be used to help fund the Giving Tree charity at Crowder College.

Aubuchon also stated that, if enough students request it, there may be more showings of movies in the future.
