Q&A: Chris Montz

What do you plan to make a career out of?
Computer programing. It’s something I’ve always been interested in.

How long have you been at Crowder?
This is my first year.

How has your experience overall been so far?
It’s been great so far.

Where do you plan to go after Crowder?
I plan to go to MSU. Their classes over Computer Programming are really appealing to me.

Why did you choose this college?
It’s the closest and most affordable to me.

Are you a full time student or a part time?
I go full time.

Where did you go to school previously?
Neosho High School.

What inspired you to pick your major?
I’ve always been interested in computers. I’ve been working with them since I can remember.

What classes are you taking right now?
I’m taking English, Speech, College Algebra, and an Intro to Computer Science class.

How much previous experience have you had with computers?
I’ve had plenty. I’ve been working on computers since I can remember.

Was there any specific person that inspired you to pick your degree?
Yes. The technology advisor at my high school.

How was your experience at high school compared to your college experience?
High school was a lot easier. The classes were not as stressful, for sure.

What classes are you taking that you think will help the most?
Most likely my Intro to Computer Science class.

Which of your classes are you enjoying the most?
College Algebra.

Where do you work, if you do at all?
I work in the IT Department after classes.

What do you do in IT?
I help fix computers, as well as helping with deliveries.

What do you think of your current schedule?
I like it, for the most part.

How stressful has college been for you?
It’s been somewhat stressful, though not as much as I thought.

How active are you in the community?
Pretty active. I do a lot of volunteer work at my church.

What is your ideal college?
I would love to go to the University of Arkansas.
