The English Language Institute’s (ELI) Global Language Project begins this Friday, January 31 and meets weekly until March 7. For the next 6 weeks, ELI student and south Korean native, Eiline Hong, will teach her native language and culture to interested students, faculty and staff.

This non-credit hour class will meet from 11a.m. to noon, in Newton Hall room 356. There’s a $10 registration fee for the entire course.

How to Register

To register for the class, students must pick up a registration form in Newton Hall room 328 or drop by ELI instructor, Rose Speck’s, office. Then, they need to take the form to the Cashier’s Office to pay. The receipt is the ticket to class.

Students may join the class at any time, but you’ll still need to register and pay $10.

Course Description

In the course, students learn about Korean culture with basic writing and speaking activities. Lessons include: writing your name, greeting others, discussing hobbies and family, ordering food, bargaining and buying merchandise, and learning a few popular Korean idioms.
