Make time for friends and family on Valentine’s Day

Ever wonder how much time you have on your hands? Normally, people feel like they don’t have enough time. Turns out, they have more than enough time! What people don’t know how to do is use it wisely. How many of you have started watching a movie or television show and realized that time just “flew by”? That’s because you could have gotten a million other things done (cleaning the kitchen, living room, laundry, dishes, homework, etc.) instead of spending that hour and a half sitting down, eating junk food and watching a movie.

This Valentine’s Day, or Single’s Awareness Day, be sure to make time for your spouse or your friends. It’s important to make sure that you make time for other people in your life. Later in life, people will realize that friends are vitally important to being happy in life. Friends lift you up and help you be the person you wish to be. Spouses do the same thing. As a newlywed myself, I have learned that spending too much time with one person can be overwhelming. It makes me feel like I am not saving time for my parents or friends. People have a bad addiction to dedicating their time to their phone as well.

This Valentine’s Day, put the phone down and go do something with your friends or spouse. They will love the company. It feels so good to be able to get away from the virtual world for a couple hours while doing recreational activities with the person or people you love.

Balance your time. If you wish to spend the day with your friends, then do so! That evening come home or go out to eat with the love of your life and have a romantic date. If that’s not an option, then have a girl’s night out (or in). Being with people who share the same thoughts and feelings you do will make you appreciate your friendship with them. Plus, you’ll have a night away from the insanity of Facebook and Instagram that goes on daily. Be sure to save ample amount of time for the ones you love. Put down the cell phone and enjoy life.
