Audio: Morning Inspirations S1E6

Written, hosted, produced and directed by Jesse O. Walls.

Welcome to morning inspirations. I’m your host, Jesse Walls.

Our first quote comes from American country singer, Randy Travis:

“It’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it’s what you leave behind you when you go.”

Though in this song he is talking about death, I feel this line can be applied to many areas in our lives. Do we really stop to think about what we are leaving behind when we move from one chapter in our life to the next? Do we consider the legacy we leave for those who follow?

In school, in the workplace, with family and friends, we have people who are watching our example and it is our responsibility to do the best we can and leave a positive imprint on the places we leave behind. We were all created to be leaders, and our example – our deeds and our actions – can either inspire or discourage those who are looking up to us.

We have a responsibility, not just to ourselves, but to those around us: to be our best, to achieve our goals and never give up on our dreams, to help those in need and never be too proud to accept help when we need it, and to always encourage others and be a positive influence whenever we can.

My final quote comes from Christine Gregoire, an American politician who served as the 22nd Governor of the state of Washington

“It is up to us to live up to the legacy that was left for us, and to leave a legacy that is worthy of our children and of future generations.”

As I end this segment, I’d like you to ask yourself: What is the legacy you wish to leave behind? What can you do today to make a better tomorrow?

Join me next Monday for another episode of Morning Inspirations.
