Crowder College theatre department will be performing Lend Me a Tenor this weekend, starting at 7:30 p.m. on April 24-26 with a 2 p.m. matinee showing on Saturday. The admissions are $8 for the public, $4 for Crowder staff and students and $5 for seniors.

Dinner Theatre

Along with the matinee showing on Saturday, there will be a dinner starting at 6:15 p.m. in the Elsie Plaster Community Center, the first in about 20 years. According to Drew Fethers, interim head of theatre and director of Lend Me a Tenor, the dinner will be catered by the Great Western Diner and served by the students from the Phi Beta Lamda (PBL) as a fundraiser for the business department. Those who wish to see the 7:30 p.m. show are not required to attend the dinner.

Plot

According to Fethers, Lend Me a Tenor is a comedy about a famous tenor who travels to Ohio to perform at the opera. However, the tenor accidently takes sleeping pills and passes out before the performance. Thinking the tenor is dead, the director finds another tenor to take his place which causes confusion among the actors.
