Crowder has been partnering with other colleges in the area for some time now. It’s possible for students to receive degrees is specific majors through other colleges while staying on Crowder’s campus. But, starting this semester, another degree has been added to the list.

Thanks to faculty members from Crowder and from Missouri Southern State University (MSSU), a BSBA Management degree is now being offered here through MSSU. This will make the dream that some students have of getting a Bachelor’s degree a reality, without having to drive all the way to Joplin.

The idea to offer this degree started with Kali Bard, Business Division Chair here at Crowder, and other faculty members. Students had been expressing some interest, and the demand for such a degree had been increasing. Bard and others approached MSSU with the idea, and they were on board right away.

“What this is really trying to do,” said Dr. Chis Moos, Department Head of Marketing and Management at MSSU, “is to reach out to make that education opportunity available to more students.” Dr. Moos is a professor at MSSU that is teaching some of the courses for this new degree.

This degree will make an education possible for more students, and it could open more doors so more degree programs like this can be offered in the future.
