Where is your hometown?
Granby, Mo.

What are you entering Crowder this year as?
Freshman.

Tell me a little about yourself.
I love anything that has to do with literature and writing. I enjoy reading and writing stories.

What is you major?
Journalism and Public Relations.

Why do you want to pursue this major?
I’ve always found it interesting to read magazines, and wonder about the people who write it and how they gather all the information and go about writing everything for the article about what interests people.

What do you want to do after Crowder?
I did Upward Bound at MSSU and I really liked the campus, so after Crowder, I’m definitely thinking about transferring to MSSU to go on with my degree.

What do you want to do with your career after getting your degree?
Hopefully work for a magazine or a newspaper company.

Are you involved in any clubs here at Crowder?
No but I might join the drama club.

What has been your best memory at Crowder so far?
Definitely the one thing I’ll remember about Crowder is how the friendly atmosphere is compared to other colleges with everything being so close; all the students and teachers have been really nice so far, and all the students get along real well and I really like that.

Who is the most influential person in your life, and why?
Probably be my mom. My dad’s a truck driver so he’s not usually home, so it’s always been my mom doing most of the raising and influencing (not that my dad doesn’t help out, he’s just gone all the time). My mom is such a great person, loves to please everybody, so sweet, and she’s really influenced me in how I want to grow up.

If you could have a sit down dinner with two people (famous, family or friend, dead or alive), who would it be and why?
Definitely Tim Burton; I’m a huge fan of his. And Johnny Depp. I love them both; they are amazing. Anything they produce, I am just drawn to.

What is your favorite sports team?
Texas Longhorns.

What is your favorite musician/band?
Fall Out Boy.

What is your favorite TV show?
We haven’t had TV in my house for a long time, but some of my favorites are older ones like Andy Griffith, mainly shows that have the “goodness” to it.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Lai Lai’s in Monett, it’s a Chinese restaurant and my favorite restaurant of all time.

What is the first vehicle you have ever owned?
1999 Subaru, then I wrecked it during my senior year of high school.

How long did you have that car before the wreck?
I had it since my sophomore year of high school.

Where is your favorite vacation spot to go?
I went to Disney World in Florida a couple of years ago. I really liked it, and it was cool.

If you could offer one piece of advice to future college students about what you have learned after being in college for a while, what would it be?
Don’t be nervous at all. You’ve done so much in high school to prepare you for college. Now when you get to college, it’s about the same as high school. It’s a little different because you don’t know all the people in your class and a lot bigger campus than your high school building, but just don’t be nervous!
