RodeoOn Aug. 14 and 15, the Crowder Aggies hosted the 3rd Annual Roughrider Scholarship Rodeo in the Crowder Arena. The event began at 7 p.m. It included a dinner, mutton bustin’, and a drill team before the main rodeo.

The rodeo, jointly organized by the Crowder Agriculture Department and the Indigo Sky and Bordertown casinos, hosted close to 2,500 people during its two day contest.

Students who participated in organizing get some of the proceeds in scholarships either for agricultural competitions that happen at the State and National level, or for trips like this semester’s to Peru.

“Student involvement in the planning and execution of the rodeo is from start to finish, and they earn those scholarship dollars every step of the way,” notes  Karen Fink, the Administrative Assistant for the Agriculture Division.

The next annual rodeo is slated for Aug. 12 and 13, 2016.
