The Lady ‘Riders softball team has officially welcomed John Sisemore as the new interim head coach, replacing Lori Videmschek, who resigned her position back on Dec. 12 at the annual Board of Trustees meeting.
According to a press release sent by the school, Sisemore has worked as the head coach at Ecclesia College in Springdale, Ark., the Adidas national team, the Crush Elite softball team of Arkansas, as well as served as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Having a coaching career that spans six years, Sisemore has a coaching record of 268 wins and 41 losses. He has also produced award winning athletes throughout all levels of college sports, including the Southeastern Conference, as well as the Big 12.
“Crowder is very fortunate to get a coach with the experience and credentials coach Sisemore possesses,” stated Millie Gilion, athletic director.
“I am honored to be a part of such a great atmosphere here at Crowder,” Sisemore stated in the press release. “When I was given this tremendous opportunity, I had no idea what a wonderful, welcoming place I was coming to. I hope to help continue the winning traditions and hard work ethics that have been instilled by the facility now and before me.”
Courtney Folk, freshman general studies major and in-fielder for the Lady ‘Riders softball team, is excited to have the new coach on staff due to his knowledge about the game.
“He’s really smart and he knows what he’s talking about,” said Folk. “I think he will be really beneficial to our program.”
The Lady ‘Riders softball season will commence on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. with a double header against Lake Land Community College and Northern Oklahoma.
