The 14th Annual Festival of Wreaths is set for Nov. 15 to help raise money for scholarships.

The 14th Annual Festival of Wreaths will be Nov. 15 in the Elsie Plaster building on campus and serves to raise money for Foundation scholarships for Crowder students. This event is sponsored by Don Wessel Honda in Springfield.
It will begin with an online silent auction at 4 p.m. with items in Longwell Museum and the live auction beginning at 6:30 in the auditorium. There will be a free self-serve dinner from 5-6:30 p.m. sponsored by McDonald County Telephone.

“This event started as a simple live auction of wreaths and swags and has since evolved into an event with over 500 merchandise items for sale,” said Haley Reardon, Assistant Director of Resource Development and Alumni Relations for the Foundation.

Last year this event raised $122,000 for scholarships provided to Crowder students. “Receiving a foundation scholarship gives me hope. The hope comes from knowing that there are people who believe in what we Crowder students do and help us out of the goodness of their hearts,” said Kirsten Hargis, general studies student.
Individuals may make monetary or merchandise donations by contacting Haley Reardon in the Foundation Office at (417) 455-5701.
Stfestival-of-wreaths-kbudents may also call or stop by the office if interested in volunteering to help set up the event. This is an opportunity for foundation scholarship recipients to conduct the hours required to receive their scholarships.
This year the silent auction will be online. Bidders will be sent a link to check from their phones or other devices. There will be bidding assistants available around the event with devices for those whose batteries died or those who are not comfortable enough with technology.
Festival of Wreaths is also hosting a raffle this year. Participants may preorder raffle tickets either online or contact the Foundation Office. These tickets will be sold until the drawing. The winner will have a choice between an Apple Watch Sport, iPad Air 2, or and HP touchscreen laptop.
