Welcome to morning inspirations. I’m your host, Jesse Walls.

Today we’ll be talking about leadership. Our first quote comes from Robert Greenleaf, founder of the modern servant-leadership movement:

“Good leaders must first become good servants.”

A common misconception with leadership is that the followers work for leader, which is not true. A good leader sees the value of his or her followers, appreciates their efforts and is willing to serve them so they can get ahead.

As in the words of Ken Blanchard, author and management expert:

“Servant-leadership is all about making the goals clear and then rolling your sleeves up and doing whatever it takes to help people win. In that situation, they don’t work for you, you work for them.”

Too many people want to be in charge without putting in the effort to help others, and these people will never be good leaders. A good leader inspires and motivates, and one does not have to be in a position of authority to lead by example, but can do so every day, in all that they do.

My final quote comes from John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States of America:

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

Tomorrow awaits and what the world needs are more good leaders who are willing to help others; who are willing to give of themselves and not be too proud to humble themselves to serve others.

This is the final episode of Morning Inspirations, thank you all for sharing this journey with me. This is Jesse Walls, saying goodbye.
