Adamo Stornello is a catcher for Crowders baseball team. Stornello is an international player from Montreal, QC and went to high school at Loyola.

Stornello was looking for somewhere to go for collegiate baseball and lucky enough for him he had a friend that came to Crowder prior. His friend explained to him just how special the program here at Crowder is. “I picked Crowder as the place I wanted to play college baseball due to the programs reputation as a perennial junior college powerhouse. Coach Lallemand played a huge role as well in my decision to coming here as I was a big fan of how he ran the program”, said Stornello.

Stornello is a big fan of his coach and Coach Lallemand is just as big of a fan of Stornello. “He is a guy every coach desires to have on their roster.  He is an everyday eddy type player meaning you know what you are going to get on a daily basis.” Said Coach Lallemand, head coach of the baseball team. “Adamo has tremendous leadership ability and as a catcher, that is an important trait.  From his first start last spring, you could tell he took charge and created trust on the field with his teammates”.

His teammates love having Stornello on the team. “Adamo is a great teammate both on and off of the field. On the field he brings energy and enthusiasm. Off the field he is there for all of his teammates for anything that we need.” Said Rod Criss, Center Fielder. “ You need a catcher who shows confidence and Stornello lacks none of that, it’s always a pleasure getting to be on his team when it comes down to it”.

Coming from a big city to a small town a different country and there would be some differences. “The biggest transition was probably coming from such a huge city like Montreal to such a smaller environment in Neosho.”, said Stornello. “The biggest difference from Canada to Crowder is the people. I’d say that the people at Crowder are more simple contrary to those from back home who need the constant action that comes from living in a big city.”

Despite the transition and differences from Canada to Crowder, Stornello is focused on helping his team succeed in any way he can.

“After Crowder, I aspire to continue both my athletic and academic career at the next level.” Said Stornello. “Coach Lallemand does an amazing job of moving players on to the next level so I am confident that I will attain such a goal”.

Stornello is a great leader on and off the field and his teammates and coaches respect him. After Crowder he will continue with his leadership and being a great teammate on any team he joins.
