By Shelbi Thurman

Melody Burton is a dedicated mother, wife and now a student at Crowder College, planning to learn new skills to help her achieve her creative success.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in McDonald County with my family, specifically I lived in Anderson, MO.

Why did you choose to attend Crowder College here in Neosho?
My kids are currently in school, and I wanted to pursue a passion of mine rather than stay home and only care for my children.

What activities do you love in your free time?
I love drawing, practicing my tattoo designs, cleaning my home, and caring for my children.

What or who motivates and inspires you?
My kids are my main motivation and strength to do everything I do!

What brings you joy in your day-to-day life?
My children, husband, and music – I especially enjoy listening to metal, rock, and anime rap.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I’m still deciding what is next, but I will be applying what I learn so I can create a website to promote my designs.

If money was no object, where would you live? And why?
I would visit Tokyo, Japan. I’ve always wanted to see and experience what it has to offer.

What is your dream job?
I would be a tattoo artist or a musician!

If you were an animal, what do you think you would be? And why?
I would be a Wolf – they are loyal, traveling in packs and caring for one another.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
I am Reserved, Polite, and Responsible!
