How can Crowder Cares provide assistance to students?

Crowder Cares statistics

Crowder Cares made an appearance during Wellness Week to inform the community about their on-going program that helps students during moments of academic or emotional distress while attending college.

Crowder Cares is an emergency-based program managed by a behavioral intervention team, also known as BIT. The program was developed by Crowder College to assists students and faculty during times of difficulty. The team encourages anyone who may be in need of support to file a report with a behavioral intervention team.

Crowder Cares provides a list of distress signals to help the college community recognize when their students or peers may be in need of some assistance.  They’ll also instruct students and teachers on how to make a report and explain what outcomes to expect.

Crowder Cares provides help with numerous concerns. They give teachers a way to help their students by using Academic Alert to express their performance concerns; these students could be experiencing anything from missing assignments to needing food at home.

The BIT also provides help with a wide variety of sexual harassment or misconduct reports. They also help those students that deal with issues concerning bullying, domestic violence, and discrimination.

Robyn Bebie, one of the representatives of Crowder Cares, takes to heart the objective of this program which is to help maintain the health and safety of the Crowder College student body.

“I enjoy helping families and students during times of struggle,” Bebie said.
