Crowder celebrated its seventh consecutive year of Wellness Week.

Crowder College celebrated its seventh consecutive year of Wellness Week; a week packed full of activities, freebies, treats, free health services, and community support giving all students and staff an opportunity to get involved

Sept. 12-16 Crowder students were invited to the Quad and the Student Center to participate in multiple activities provided by the college and surrounding community businesses and organizations.

Tasty snacks, hula hooping lessons, on-campus puppies from a local no-kill shelter, free massages, a drunk goggles driving test, a blood drive, and many other activities filled the week! The events focused on, not one, but multiple aspects of wellness; physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, occupational, and environmental.

“Wellness is so much more than just a week!” said Christy Manning, the Coordinator for the Student Accessibility Office.

Manning mentioned that Wellness Week is something she would like to see happen more often and have more faculty and staff participation in, as well. She believes having this event occur more frequently in the future could bring awareness to overall wellness across the campuses.

As fellow student Tatum Stogsdill said, “This is needed to move forward!”

Manning hopes it will be a week in which new students can be introduced, current students can get more involved, and faculty and staff can “fill their cup” and embrace a culture of health and wellness here at Crowder.

There are seven dimensions of wellness: environmental, occupational, emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, and social.
