The Festival of Wreaths is an auction to raise money for Crowder students’ tuition. The Festival of Wreaths starts with a silent auction at 4:30pm, Hors d’oeuvres at 5:00 p.m. and a live auction at 6:30 on Nov. 9 in the Elsie Plaster building. The event sells both holiday decorations and other items to raise money for scholarships. covid-19 affected the event last year, but the festival was still able to raise 88,182 dollars for scholarships as reported by The Crowder Sentry.

Guests planning on attending in person are asked to pre-register at bidpal.net/fow2021 or Text FOW2021 to 243725. Proxy bidders are provided to those that wish to bid while at home. Call 417-455-5646 for more information. Last year the auction held 425 items, reduced from 600 items in 2019.

Entrance to the event is free. The money raised for scholarships has been between $80,000 and $120,000 in past years. “This is our largest fundraiser throughout the year,” Said Samantha Evans, past Festival of Wreaths coordinator.

In the past years the items being auctioned have become more varied and have included expensive items such as a car in past auctions. You may buy raffle tickets for 100 dollars to enter limited drawings for a chance to win prizes such as a trip to Costa Rico.
