The Graduation, Transfer, and Career office has many opportunities for students: Career Coach, transfer visits, graduation application, job placement, and resume builder services.

Graduation

Jeff Elwood, the Graduation, Transfer, and Career (GTC) Advisor, says the program helps to increase the graduation numbers here at Crowder because each student can have one-on-one interactions with advisors to be successful in future endeavors.

Elwood states his motivations, “I get to do something that I love, and I feel like I’m never working. I’m here for the students and to help them navigate the process of going to college and graduating because I never got that positive experience.” He hopes to give students opportunities that he was never given.

Important information Elwood wants students to know will be sent out through Canvas and needs to be check frequently because it is important. Graduation applications also need to be submitted a semester before the student’s set graduation date to ensure all required classes have been completed. Also, the GTC has a wide variety of opportunities students can take advantage of throughout the school year, not just at graduation time.

Transfer

Elwood wishes students know to take advantage of the resources they’re given. He stated, “There are more resources in the Graduation, Transfer, and Career office than people think and we’re here to help. Also, you should start thinking about where you want to transfer to after Crowder your freshman year.” The quicker students decide where they would like to transfer, the quicker the GTC can make sure each student is on the right path, Elwood emphasized.

Career

The GTC office also offers a Career Coach to help students find jobs, find the education pathway for their dream careers, and helps build resumes among other services. They also provide transfer visits and fairs for students who wish to continue their academic careers.
