Additional athletics programs including women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s golf, has been approved by the Board of Trustees in the Oct 25, 2021 meeting. They decided to start these new sports to get the community involved in Crowder athletics. “It would be a good opportunity for our families in our community to have additional opportunities in our athletics.” Tiffany Slinkard said in response to why Crowder decided to create these new programs.

“These additions are being made in an effort to adapt to the changing needs of our students and community in athletics,” Cindy Brown, Director of Public Information, states. Crowder already participates in Men’s Soccer and Baseball, Women’s Basketball and Softball as well as Co-Ed eSports.

Cross Country and Golf are mainly going to be separate sports but will be at games/races together. The cross-country team will be practicing all over the Neosho area since there are many trails throughout Neosho. The golf team will be practicing at the local courses that the school has talked to that will allow the team to practice and play.

Tiffany Slinkard, Vice President of Student Affairs, stated at the October board meeting, “The students at high schools in our district have expressed a great interest in contributing to and participating in these new programs.” These sports were chosen due to the small budgets that are required as well as interest in the community.
