Lauren Bratcher is a softball player attending Crowder for her occupational therapy major to become an orthodontist.

Where are you from?

I am from Del City, Okla.

Why did you choose Crowder College?

I chose Crowder College because I really liked the softball program and the coach.

How did you get introduced to the softball program?

The Crowder softball coach watched me play at the Tulsa elite invite showcase and told me that he was interest in me. He told me about the softball program here and asked me to come for a visit. I loved everything I saw when I came and just knew that this was where I wanted to go.

Before coming to Crowder, what did you think you would be doing?

I knew that I was going to be going to college to play softball, but I wasn’t sure where I would be.

What was your family’s reaction to you moving so far away?

They thought it would be a good opportunity for me. Just to get away from home and meet new people.

What are some of your favorite things to do in your spare time?

I love shopping for shoes. I also love being lazy by lying in bed and watching movies.

What is your major and why did you choose that major

Occupational therapy. They didn’t have my major, but the classes I am taking will qualify me to be an orthodontist.

Why do you want to be an orthodontist?

I used to have braces and I always thought that it would be cool to do something like that. Teeth don’t really gross me out and the pay is good.
