Singles and Struggles

Whether you’re spending this Valentine’s Day single for the first time or the fifth time, or if your relationship is struggling a little bit, there are still plenty of ways to make the most of your day. Being single on Valentine’s Day isn’t something to be ashamed of, there’s no rule saying you have to be in a relationship to celebrate and take advantage of festivities.

With that being said, you could still take advantage of the specials offered by restaurants, stores or even your local tattoo/piercing shop. You can always treat yourself to a selfcare day, use your best face mask, light your favorite candle and have some “me time” to relax and maybe show yourself some love.

Another idea is to celebrate with your friends by having a Gal/Pal-entines, treat each other with gifts or take advantage of all the ongoing specials. Lastly, you could even be your own Valentine, buy yourself the stuffed animal or box of chocolates that you’ve had your eye on in the store, or even some new jewelry, the choice is all yours.

For a relationship that may be struggling, don’t worry there are still ways to make the most of your day as well. Instead of going out, staying in and spending time with each other may be a better option, focusing on each other and taking time to really be present can be so beneficial.

When it comes to gifts, focusing on personal or sentimental gifts can do wonders for showing your partner that you care. Reliving old happy memories, or writing letters about what you love about each other can help revive the struggles.

Valentine’s Day is about love and showing people you care, whether you’re alone or with someone you love, there are always ways to make the best of the day.
