The Freedom Dividend is a proposal by Democratic candidate Andrew Yang. The Freedom DIvidend would provide every American citizen over the age of 18 with a universal basic income of $1000 per month. Andrew Yang proposes this idea because he believes that automation and artificial intelligence will take jobs from the people, and the Freedom Dividend would allow citizens to be able to focus on their education and the future. The $15 minimum wage, proposed by many democrartic candidates one of the biggest supporters is candidate Bernie Sanders. Sanders believes in the minimum wage because the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 is not a livable wage. He believes that $15 per hour is an acceptable and livable minimum wage. Have a $15 per hour minimum wage would allow people to live comfortably and not in poverty which 1 in 9 Amercians currently are living in poverty.
