Movie Review: movie series

The hero of The Kung Fu Panda proves that coming from nothing shouldn’t stop someone for reaching above and beyond.

Jack Black, voice actor of PO, poses with his character.

The Kung Fu Panda series stands as one of the best movie series to ever come from the 2010s. Whether you enjoy cartoons or not, The Kung Fu Panda series has its own perks of having an amazing underdog storyline while having eye catching animation along with amazing action.

The story starts off with the first movie titled ‘Kung Fu Panda’ where it introduces the protagonist Po, voiced by Jack Black. Po is a panda who lives in a small dumpling shop with his goose dad. Po is an eccentric panda who drives himself to become something, although he puts his shop and his dad first.

By the kiss of a fate, a true accident where Po stumbles upon a ritual of finding who the dragon warrior is, Po earns the title of the dragon warrior by falling into the middle of the ritual and is suddenly thrown into a world where he was only able to dream of just a few minutes ago.

As any underdog story, Po must learn how to become the dragon warrior from scratch and with no one willing to help, viewing Po as someone who disturbed the peace, he’s having to learn kung fu. Being a beginner in his dream job, Po is of course not used to the sudden action.

As time passes by, the Furious Five and Po open to one another, Master Shifu is faced with his past in the form of an old student who he once thought would take the Dragon Warrior title. This student being Tai Long, a vengeful soul ready to take what’s rightfully his.

Tai Long is extremely powerful despite being jailed for many years because he defeats the Furious Five in a single fight and even goes to fight Master Shifu, even as they share sorrowful looks at one another. Tai Long doesn’t think about Master Shifu for long, even though in the scene it’s showed that he once viewed Shifu as a father figure, but he leaves Shifu injured and goes prowling for Po.

The ending should be enjoyed by watching the movie, so I won’t spoil anything too important. However, just know, Po is rightfully the Dragon Warrior and the future lays bright for him and his newfound friends.

This is just the first movie, with the trilogy being led by comedy and insightful viewings of life, The Kung Fu Panda movie series stands as one of the best trilogy’s to ever grace the 2010s.

It’s a classic movie series that shows pride in its humor and actions with its smooth animation that helped open more movies in the 2010s. It’s a movie that has emotions and each movie can stand alone as something brilliant and worth every re-watch.
