What love does to your brain

When you first fall in love with someone, you get a surge of the hormone oxytocin, “the love hormone,” as well as dopamine, “the pleasure hormone.” These emotions are processed in a small part of the brain known as the amygdala, which is the center of emotional processing inside of the brain. In a way, you are actually becoming addicted to your partner.
